Beefy Jalapeno Cornbread

Ingredients:
1 Cup yellow cornmeal
1 Cup milk
2 Eggs, beaten
3/4 Teaspoon salt
1/2 Teaspoon soda
1/2 Cup bacon drippings or vegetable oil
1 (17oz.) can cream style corn
1 Pound ground beef
1 Pound cheddar cheese (shredded)
1 Medium onion, chopped
4-5 Jalapeno peppers with seeds removed, chopped
Special tools/utensils needed: 13x9x2 baking pan
Directions:
In a large mixing bowl, combine cornmeal, milk, eggs, salt, soda, bacon drippings and corn in a mixing bowl; mix well and set aside.
Brown ground beef and set aside.
Pour 1/2 of cornbread batter into a greased 13x9x2 pan; sprinkle with cheese. Crumble beef over cheese and sprinkle with onion and pepper. Pour remaining batter over top.
Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 50 minutes.
