Scalloped Potatoes

Description: This is a great side dish which was used before a packaged Betty Crocker version came to market. Real food!

Ingredients:
4 cups potatoes, thinly sliced
2 1/2 Teaspoons salt
1/4 Teaspoon pepper
1/4 Cup flour
3 Tablespoons butter, cut in thin slices
1/2 Cup cheese, grated (amount as desired)
Milk to cover to top of layered casserole
1 Small onion, thinly sliced, optional
Special tools/utensils needed:
3 ½” high x 7 ½” round or square baking dish, 2 quart, could be a bit bigger
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F
Mix seasoned flour: salt, pepper, flour
In a baking dish put a layer of potatoes, seasoned flour, cheese and dot with butter. Repeat. Pour milk to reach the top layer of potatoes.
Bake, uncovered at 400 degrees for 45 minutes.
Note from Marlene - (I add sliced onion at each layer). Sounds gooood!!
