Description: This recipe is most successful when assembled in the air fryer, rather than on the counter and transferred into the air fryer.
Prep time: 10 minutes
Total time: 20 minutes
Servings: 2
Difficulty rating: 1
Ingredients:
4 slices of Brioche bread or any other thickly-sliced bread
1 Egg
1/4 cup Greek yogurt
1 tablespoons Maple syrup
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon, plus extra to taste
Optional: 1/4 cup berries, diced or whole, as preferred
Optional: chocolate or white chocolate chips
Special tools/utensils needed:
Air fryer, spoon, whisk
Directions:
With the back of a spoon, create a well in each slice of brioche by pressing the spoon firmly in the center of the bread, just out to the edges, being careful not to pierce through the bread.
In a separate bowl, crack the egg and add the greek yogurt. Add maple syrup, vanilla extract, and cinnamon.
Whisk egg mixture until completely smooth and incorporated, leaving no lumps.
Place bread bowls in the air fryer, two per batch. Add fruits or sweets to the bread bowls.
Pour egg mixture into the wells filling the bread bowls 2/3 to the top of the crust. Do not fill to the top of the bread bowls or the mixture will overflow in cooking as it rises. Finish with a dusting of cinnamon over both slices.
Carefully place the basket or tray of the air fryer into the machine. Set your air fryer to 360 degrees for 6 minutes.
With a spatula and tongs, remove finished slices from the air fryer. Repeat with additional slices. This recipe will scale.
