Air Fryer Boston Butt

Description: This is a great alternative to a traditionally cooked boston butt.  Very flavorful and tender!

Cooking time: 5-6 hours

Ingredients

5-6 lb pork shoulder

Jack Daniels Pork rub

1 sliced onion

4 crushed garlic cloves

Apple cider vinegar

Worcestershire sauce

Liquid Smoke


Special tools/utensils needed:

Air fryer

5.5 qt dutch oven


Instructions:

1. Rub and refrigerate overnight in covered 5.5 qt dutch oven

2. Remove from refrigerator 2 hours before cooking to come to room temperature

3. Cut butt into 4 equal pieces

4. Add 1 sliced onion and 4 crushed garlic cloves to bottom of dutch oven

5. Place cut pieces of butt on top of garlic and onion

6. Mix the following together in a medium bowl:

1.25 cup apple cider vinegar

0.25 cup Worcestershire sauce

0.5 cup water

1 Tbsp 

7. Pour mixture over butt in dutch oven, cover, and place in air fryer on Slow Cook, Low for 5-6 hours.  Check after 5 hours. (Final Internal temp should be between 195-205ºF)

8. Shred with forks once done and serve with BBQ sauce
