Baked Custard

Ingredients:
4 cups Milk
6 large Eggs
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/2 cup Granulated sugar
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract

Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350° F.
Add the cold milk to a heavy bottomed saucepan. Heat the saucepan over medium heat, stirring frequently. The milk is scalded when small bubbles appear around the outside of the saucepan, or the temperature registers 180 to 185° F.
In a medium bowl, mix together the eggs, salt, and sugar.Slowly add the scalded milk and vanilla.
Place the custard mixture in a baking dish then place the baking dish in a pan of water. Do not fill the pan of water higher than 2/3 of the baking dish.
Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour. To check insert knife one inch from edge. It should come out clean, and the custard should still have a slight jiggle in the center.
Garnish with raspberries and mint, if desired. Serve immediately or chill until cold. Enjoy.
