Tomato Pie

Ingredients:
1 unbaked (9 inch) deep-dish pie shell
2-3 medium tomatoes, peeled, cored and sliced
1 Vidalia onion, thinly sliced
1/2 Teaspoon salt
1/4 Teaspoon pepper
1/2 Teaspoon dried basil
1/4 Teaspoon chopped green onions
1/4 Cup mayonnaise
1 Cup shredded cheddar cheese
Special tools/utensils needed:
Pie dish (glass)
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Prick the pie shell with a fork in 4 or 5 places. Bake the shell for 5 minutes.
Peel the tomatoes, remove the cores & slice. Thinly slice the Vidalia onion.
Lay the tomato slices in the pie shell. Top with the onion slices. Sprinkle the salt, pepper, basil and green onions.
Mix the mayonnaise & cheddar cheese in a bowl. Spread over the layers, sealing to the edge.
Bake for 30 minutes.
